Sunglint on the Alabama Stream

.In this particular June 26, 2023, image extracted from the International Spaceport station, sun light shines off the soft waters of the Alabama Stream in a phenomenon called sunglint. When photographing Planet, astronauts commonly benefit from sunglint's tendency to enhance the comparison between water surfaces and neighboring land surface areas. In the 1960s, the Alabama Stream was slowed, developing Dannelly Storage tank (the sizable shining location at center left). Building and construction of the dam additionally raised water levels upriver. This caused flooding at numerous aspects along the waterway. These flooded zones are common of flood plains-- the poor, flat regions quickly close to bigger streams. In this particular graphic, flooded zones seem like irregular, vivid designs prolonging far from the waterway, like at Gee's Bend (center bottom).Text Credit Rating: Justin Wilkinson.Picture Credit: NASA/Woody Hoburg.
